Equal Opportunity Just A Myth?

Is Equal Opportunity Just a Myth?

America claims to be dedicated to
equal opportunity, yet equality is not sufficient in urban communities. These
kids need more. We need to think about equity, not equality. It is not enough to
hide them away. These are visions we should never
forget.

In Amazing Grace: The lives of children and the
conscience of a nation, Jonathan Kozol paints a vivid picture of the conditions
in the poorest sections of New York City. During the early to mid 1990’s, Kozol
made several visits to Mott Haven in the South Bronx. As he describes in Amazing
Grace, the South Bronx is one of the most severely segregated and poorest
Congressional Districts in the United States.
The members of this community have been segregated into a
hell plagued with sickness, violence and despair. Kozol argues that this
strategic placement serves to isolate the rich from the realities they have
thrust upon their fellow man. New Yorkers do not stroll through the streets of
Mott Haven, and taxicabs take no short cuts through Beekman Avenue. Many
taxicabs will not even venture past East 96th Street. Out of sight is out of
mind.

As I was reading Amazing Grace, I remember thinking back to my days
living in Manhattan, coincidentally around the same time Kozol conducted his
interviews in the South Bronx. I lived in what Kozol refers to as Manhattan’s
“Liberal West Side,” an area that was undergoing rapid transformation and
gentrification at the time Mayor Rudolph Giuliani took office.

There is
no excuse for the conditions in which these people must live. No person should
be forced into an apartment that has a higher ratio of cockroaches and rats than
human beings.

In 1995, the American Sociological Association (ASA) held
its annual conference in New York City. Prior to that meeting, they sent out a
fact sheet that may be of interest to ASA members. In this sheet, they too
described the same social conditions and asked their members to take note of the
changes that occur at 96th Street. I can assure you that the conditions Kozol
describes in his book were not exaggerated.

These children are
desperately in need of the best schools, yet we give them the worst. They have
few libraries, few safe havens, few doctors, and few role models. They have
every reason to believe that they are throwaway children and we have certainly
not shown them anything else. The social services we have provided are a
bureaucratic nightmare. People in need are treated as sub-human, and made to
feel ashamed of being poor.

These are among the sickest children in the
world. Americans claim to be dedicated to the children and fool ourselves into
believing that we are doing them a favor by providing them with medical care,
public education, and public housing. Yet, the quality of their neighborhoods
speaks volumes of our sentiment and intentions.

Shortly after Amazing
Grace was published, managed care rapidly moved onto the New York scene. Around
the same time, the Mayor announced he would be closing some of the hospitals
that served the poorest of the poor because of financial problems associated
with payment and large trauma departments.

Kozol makes the point that
people could attempt to gain admissions at a better hospital than Bronx-Lebanon;
yet, the privatization of Medicaid has now made this completely impossible.
Further restrictions on medical care are inevitable as the result of Medicaid
managed care. The law is not designed to protect these people, and this was made
obvious in a recent conversation I had with a friend who practices medicine in
New York.

My friend John works as a board certified trauma physician at a
private hospital on the Upper East Side. The last black patient he treated at
Beth Israel was famed rock singer Michael Jackson. I asked him if he ever gets
any asthma patients in his ER. He knew immediately of whom I was speaking. “You
mean the kids from the South Bronx?” he asked. He told me that they know better
than to show up at Beth Israel. “But if they do?” I asked, and he replied, “We
ship them back.”

This is the reality. The best doctors treat the
wealthiest patients rather than the sickest. Schools educate the best students
rather than the neediest. It is no wonder that these children perform poorly in
school. By every measure, these children are destined for failure. Their home
life is less than enchanting, and they do not benefit from enriched environments
and educated parents.

Certainly, there are many dedicated parents who
care about their children, but is that enough? When I was in school, children
frequently asked the teacher, how will this help later in life. In my class,
there was an unequivocal reply, but it could be argued that what children in the
South Bronx need to learn couldn’t be taught in the classroom.

There is
no doubt that the prevalence of violence in urban neighborhoods affects the
ability of children to perform well in school. There is a large body of
empirical evidence that demonstrates the effects of chronic stress on memory and
the learning process. Rather than taking the children out of these communities,
we have constructed prison like buildings for them to attend school. They
routinely have gunfire drills reminding them that danger is never far
behind.

Children cannot learn in this environment. This constant stress
triggers “hot-memory.” Hot memory can be thought of as learning with your heart
and not your mind. It is no wonder children perform inadequately in this
environment.

It is bad enough that children live in such conditions, must
we educate in them too? If we want underprivileged children to learn and grow
spiritually, we must create an environment that allows their cool memory systems
to take over.

It is only under these conditions that children will permit
themselves to learn and develop their intellectual strengths. We have failed to
create a safe home environment for urban children, but we can give serious
thought to creating a school environment outside of the community so they have
fewer fear-driven hours each day.

Studies consistently report lower
academic achievement in urban neighborhoods like Mott Haven in the South Bronx.
Children growing up in urban neighborhoods have a much higher incidence of
posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Most researchers believe this to be the
direct result of living in stressed communities plagued with street crime and
violence. The potential impact of chronic stress on academic performance and
achievement is not known, but reading scores in neighborhoods like Mott Haven
certainly seem to indicate some type of causal relationship. There is virtually
no research on looking at the long-term effects of this inflated incidence of
PTSD among urban populations. It is important to develop an understanding of the
effects of fear on the academic performance of urban adolescents so we can begin
to dismantle the myths regarding school performance and minority
children.

Under these conditions, it is not surprising to learn that
students also report pervasive feelings of fear and do not feel secure despite
the added presence of security personnel on school grounds. For these students,
school is a mere extension of the violent communities in which they
live.

Since urban communities have many different sources of stress, it
is important to examine how school policies contribute to the learning
environment in public schools. The quick response has been to install weapons
detectors and hire school security for urban schools. The presence of school
security certainly affects the climate of American public schools by
establishing school environments that focus more on student behavior than
student achievement. Together, the urban public school and the community it
serves are a constant reminder of the poor living conditions and social reality
of urban America.

The secured environment is an indication of the roles
students are expected to play later in life. This is a lesson they will not soon
forget.

Kozol makes it quite clear that there are several exceptional
children in this community. There are probably as many exceptional children here
as every other community around the country, yet, so few of them will make it
out of the South Bronx. Kozol is careful not to dwell on the exceptional cases
of children who successfully navigate their way into the main stream of society.
Kozol does this so we do not develop a false sense of hope. If we cling to a few
exceptional cases, we may come to believe that what we are giving enough to
children like Anthony or Anabelle. Clearly, we can do more. Failure should be
the exception—not the rule. Success should be the norm, and until it is, we
should not give up hope for these children.

America claims to be
dedicated to equal opportunity, yet equality is not sufficient in a community
like Mott Haven. These kids need more. We need to think about equity, not
equality. It is not enough to hide them away. These are visions we should never
forget.

Welcome to America. The Wealthiest Nation in the
World.

With fallout from the recent climategate scandal still being felt across the global landscape it’s worth looking at one of the main ideas that those proponents of Anthropogenic Global Warming have put forward as a reason for the warming which is an increase in C02 levels. The level of C02 is measured in parts per million and the CO2 levels in pre-industrial times were around 278 ppm. The levels we currently have are 385 ppm an increase of roughly 40%.

Now this may seem like a large increase but we are talking about parts per million here which means when we talk about a level of 278 ppm that meant 99.9722% of all gasses in the atmosphere were NOT C02 and we have moved down to 99.9615% of total gasses which is total increase in overall gas levels of 0.0107%.

Now I am not a scientist but I can do basic maths and apply logic to a given situation and I cannot see how this minuscule rise in C02 levels is the single factor that underpins the whole climate change crisis. Looking back over historical levels of CO2 we can see that in fact we are living in a period of historically low CO2 levels and that we have successfully survived levels of up to 6000 ppm going back a few million years.

This period of our earth’s history was one in which the whole planet was populated with many life forms and in fact it corresponds with the time in our planets history, the Cambrian period, when all the major life forms suddenly appeared on the scene. Could it be that the relatively high CO2 levels of that time were a contributory factor in this major evolutionary period? It certainly suggests that high levels of C02 were not detrimental to life on this planet and when we look at the current levels of C02 in relation to this period the rise of 0.0107% seems very insignificant in relation.

CO2 history

CO2 seems to be a very odd compound to pick on as the evil that must be combated if we are to save our planet seeing that its required by living organisms to survive. The fact that humans inhale oxygen and breathe out C02 means that the subtext behind this campaign to reduce C02 is that we humans just by living are contributing to the earth’s slow death.

There is a debate amongst climatologists about whether temperature drives C02 levels or whether its the other way round. Al Gore famously showed in his film a graph that seemed to suggest that temperatures were driven by C02 levels however many scientists believe its more complex than that. Temperatures rise which then increases C02 which in turn helps trap more heat in the atmosphere which then helps drive the temperature up even more. Which ever way this chicken and egg scenario actually plays out doesn’t really matter in the politicised world of AGW as the environmental message has now been hijacked by big business and is now nothing more than a marketing tool aimed at eco conscious consumers to be used as a way to make more money.

This recent article by James Corbett asks all true environmentalists to look in the mirror and decide whether you are happy about being on the side of big business as the core values that you believed in have been taken and twisted and sold back to you.

We can begin to concentrate on the serious questions that need to be asked about the genetic engineering technology whereby hybrid organisms and new, never-before-seen proteins that are being released into the biosphere in a giant, uncontrolled experiment that threatens the very genome of life on this planet.

We can look into the environmental causes of the explosion in cancer and the staggering drops in fertility over the last 50 years, including the BPA in our plastics and the anti-androgens in the water.

We can examine regulatory agencies that are controlled by the very corporations they are supposedly watching over.

We can begin focusing on depleted uranium and the dumping of toxic waste into the rivers and all of the issues that we once knew were part of the mandate of the real environmental movement.

Or we can, as some have, descend into petty partisan politics. We can decide that lies are OK if they support ‘our’ side. We can defend the reprehensible actions of the CRU researchers and rally around the green flag that has long since been captured by the enemy.

One of the many solutions proposed by big business to solve the problem of excess CO2 in our atmosphere is the idea of carbon credits. Many politicians, scientists and commentators have even proposed that each individual person be given a yearly carbon allowance which they can use to carry out activities such as flying, driving and other carbon emitting activities. If you were to go over your limit you would be faced with a fine or carbon tax. For those people who could afford to there would be the opportunity to buy credits from those people who didn’t use there full allowance.

These carbon trading schemes are doomed to failure as they would not actually solve the problem of reducing carbon emitting activities as those people who could afford it would just pay the money and then carry on as before without changing their behaviour. The only people who will benefit will be those that run these carbon trading schemes, people like Al Gore who have substantial shares in carbon exchange schemes. In fact there are many good reasons why carbon trading is not the answer to anything let alone supposedly high levels of C02 and the site http://www.350reasons.org/ lists 350 of them including:

  • “If we put a price on every square inch of air, there are some of us who won’t be able to afford to breathe.” ~ José Bravo, Just Transition Alliance.
  • Trade in the carbon market provides a new source of funding for companies that produce large quantities of greenhouse gasses.
  • Companies can pass the cost of carbon credits onto consumers, allowing them to pollute at the same profit margin.
  • The sulfur dioxide market is often held up as a successful model for the carbon market. What is not told is that it led to pollution hotspots, areas of increased emissions, in majority people-of-color and low-income communities.
  • “Cap and trade…is almost perfectly designed for the buying and selling of political support through the granting of valuable emissions permits to favor specific industries and even specific Congressional districts. That is precisely what is taking place now in the House Energy and Commerce Committee…” – New York Times (05/17/09)
  • Carbon markets hold carbon credits in reserve as a safety valve. If carbon prices get too high, the market is flooded with these reserve credits, preventing any chances of emission reductions.
  • Carbon trading pushes pollution overseas into poorer countries with lower caps
  • Emission reductions units, the currency of the carbon trading system, rarely represent actual emission reductions.
  • Ratings company IDEAcarbon reports that actual emissions reductions from offset projects are 30% less than promised.

This debate has nothing to do with real environmentalism and we should always be looking after the planet we live on however it seems that even environmentalist organistations are not in favour of the solutions that have been proposed so far to combat climate change. Therefore we are in currently in a situation that should be familiar to everyone who knows how the world really works in that an idea has been hijacked and twisted through bad science and fear mongering to be then taken up by the politicians and big business to be used as a way of generating more revenue from the public.  Hopefully the public is finally seeing this for what it is.

something has been wrong for a very long time.

25 years ago this week, a coordinated effort between the united states government, the Philadelphia police department and counterintelligence [interesting concept] conspired to carry out what could become one of the greatest massacre in us history.

the crime that won’t go down.

west Philadelphia. osage avenue. 11 people. 5 children. one survivor.

people can not understand my deep connection to the people who died that day or the families that stayed behind hoping that the people if this nation would rebuild their homes after using extraordinary to means to silence the vice of a man who believed in the right to be free.

Vincent Leaphart was a voice to be reckoned with.

A voice that sounded just a little like my own. a little bit radical and a whole lot misunderstood.  He was a voice that needed to be heard because he was ordered to be silenced.

The Powers That Beat.

When the United States failed to convict him in 1978, “the people” did not rest their case.

they just changed the rules of the game, and i know them all too well.

i was 12 years old at the time.

i was living in an upper middle class suburban neighborhood outside of Philadelphia.  bucks county, pa.

my father, a well spoken, well educated, and well respected member of the community took me into the the closet to show me where to get the guns.  extra bullets, of course were in a bucket in the basement. under the stairs in where there was limited light and space to move about freely.

he stood behind me with his arms on tops of my own and held my hands together. the whole time correcting my posture and my stance using the force of his arms and his grip around my arms and my body as i held the gun with both hands.

it was probably one of the few times i remember him being so close to me physically. his rested on top of mine adding additional pressure demanding a calm, steady and calculated response.

i was trained. to stay calm, and stay in control as the helicopters began to take position over the city of brotherly love.

i learned how to stay calm in and around a fucking god damned massacre.

he had his arms around me to exert his position and to steady the gun should i falter, should i flinch.

marksman first class.

you don’t just aim, fire, and hope for the best. you shoot to kill.

watch so he could stand behind me and watch me take aim. suburban and i already knew how to shoot a gun,

how many twelve year olds can say that? ~a lot ~she whispers~

so next time, boys, i won’t be calling you. besides, from what i can tell you keep pretty close under the radar.

so when see the car parked outside my window for four hours at a time, yeah, i may stutter and i may fall, but i like father like daughter, i will come around.

and you can be sure that if i managed to stay alive  after what happened last summer, you be sure of one thing… this is far from over.

no. i do not trust the boys in blue. i do not trust the my neighbors or community to do the right thing in the midst of a crisis. i barely have it in me to give a crap what happens to people in “my” community.  those who turned away made jokes, or came up with their own version of actually went down that day, and in the months that followed.

it really is too late for apologies. i know you heard me. i also have the phone records and every letter and email that was sent through the “proper channels”

it won’t save me. but if I’m lucky, i just might get a ticket out of here so i can actually breathe freely and walk out beneath the shadows, the shadows of death.

i simply can not watch this video without wondering how we allow this behavior to continue despite the overwhelming evidence that we are all at risk of being victimized by those we trust will be there to protect us

remember this… you have no rights!

Nathan’s Economic Edge: When the Math No Longer Works… testing DOS attack 11/11/2010

When the Math No Longer Works…

Thursday, December 11th, 2008.

…when it is just a wreck, what are we to do?

When my daughter (who is about to graduate from college) was a new teenaged driver, she was involved in an accident (that she obviously didn’t see coming), and the car was extensively damaged, much like our economy. I could see that it was clearly totaled, but my daughter did not understand how that “little” damage could total her means of mobility and independence. So I played along and we got an estimate from the repair shop. As the shop began to detail the expenses, the nice man started with a figure that was half the book value of the car and started adding up all the “other” expenses. When he got about $2,000 ABOVE the book value of the car, the MATH was speaking in the same manner as the math in our economy is now. “No need to keep adding,” she realized. It was TIME FOR A NEW PLAN.

The accident in our economy has already happened, did you see it coming? The MATH is speaking loud and clear – http://economicedge.blogspot.com/2008/11/death-by-numbers.html. Is this accident over? Did it involve you?

The damage all adds up to considerably more than $300,000 per person in the United States. Head a family of four? YOU are responsible for your share of more than $1.2 million of debt and obligations. Do YOU have it? The real question, of course, is can the efforts of our aggregate labors reasonably be expected to pay these massive debts back? Are tax cuts going to help that situation? Does spending more on BIG GOVERNMENT help that situation? Uh huh, that two year old can see the forest clearly while those on CNBC, and in Washington D.C., are staring at trees.

There is a saying that probably has its roots in parabolic curves, and it goes like this; “Things that can’t go on forever, don’t!” Can you say, “Military industrial complex?” Remember all those parabolic debt curves, what happens when that parabolic growth ends?

For a quick review of parabolic moves, please spend ten minutes with the good professor, Dr. Bartlett:

The Most IMPORTANT Video You’ll Ever See – Part 1 (approximately 9 minutes)

If that subject interests you, he goes on to talk about global population, city population growth, oil consumption, and more in 8 total parts. To see those, just double click the picture to go to YouTube, look immediately beneath the screen and you will see “part 2 of 8.” Click on that then repeat. It’s interesting although the teenagers in his class are doing the typical American “could care less.”

The good Dr. Bartlett knows math! He understands and clearly explains the exponential function that creates parabolas and what ultimately happens to all of them! Are you picturing those debt graphs in your head? How about our stock market?

Well, let’s see what the person who I consider to be the number one technical analyst has to say about our market and what the charts are telling him: According to Robert McHugh, Ph.D., whose work can be found here, https://www.technicalindicatorindex.com, “We now find ourselves in a catastrophic Bear Market, Grand Supercycle degree Wave {IV} down, which is correcting a Bull Market from 1718, before the United States even started.”

Shazaamm! That’s one heck of a bull run, and it’s over… now? Well, that’s not all he has to say, he goes on to explain the meaning of breaking the 2002 lows and adds, “It means there is a very high probability that we are going to see new lows far below Thursday’s 752. This hurricane is not over, not by a long shot.”

And you thought I was a bear? Ha, ha, actually I have always thought Dr. McHugh was a little late to understand the fundamentals, but the technicals have been talking loud and clear to him, so he’s come around. Oh, but he doesn’t stop there! He adds, “…this Bear Market is going to change the world as we know it.”

But wait, he must be reading the same history books as me when he offers this professional opinion, “As clusters of nations merge into new political federations, with likely strong authoritarian structures, it means new currencies are coming. Fiat currencies in existence now will be at risk of being recalled, of becoming worthless, just like the confederate currency did at the end of the Civil War, just like most fiat currencies have ended up in the history of the world.” Wow, that’s a pretty serious statement coming from a conservative professional who has been far more right about these events than the vast majority of “professionals” you may see on the television! Oh, and before you listen to what Jim Cramer or Ben Bernanke have to say about avoiding the 2nd Great Depression, you might first compare their track records with the calls made by Dr. McHugh who adds, “We are likely headed into an Economic Depression.”

Evidently those guys didn’t study history before 1929, for if they did, they might have seen what Martin Armstrong describes as the 224 year Cycle of Political Change. He has traced that cycle back many centuries, describing the rise and fall (or major political upheavals) going all the way back to the Roman Empire… And when you come forward from that time, guess where it lands? Well, what year was our Declaration of Independence signed? Oh, that’s right, it was signed in the year 1776 and when you add 224 years to that you wind up at the year 2,000!

One of the Elliott Wave experts I follow, Mr. Tony Caldaro, who can be found here, http://caldaroew.spaces.live.com/PersonalSpace.aspx, had this to say in his latest weekend update:

“…Primary wave B should provide a powerful rally, and then Primary wave C should unfold in another series of abc’s into the final bear market low. Typically the C wave of any bear market is more devastating than the A wave. Please keep this in mind during the Primary wave B phase of the bear market. B wave rallies during bear markets are often mistaken for new bull markets. This mistake often lures investors into buying into the rally rather than selling. Remember we’re only about halfway through the recession.

…Should this scenario unfold, this [wave B] will provide the last opportunity to exit this market before Primary wave C unfolds.”

Now, I don’t mean to just pile on here, but all the experts I follow are beginning to get on the same page. I’m NOT cherry picking for this article, these are the advisors who I have followed for a considerable length of time – they are the ones who have been most correct. Mind you these are not people who are negative by nature, they are responding to what they see, they are the true experts, not the media “yes” men. Like me, these people were at one time bullish on the markets and could see them going higher. Sure, they saw the debts beginning to mount, but most people did not see the parabola and did not understand the ramifications.

So, I’m not the only one who sees events unfolding in pretty much the same manner. I spelled out my technical viewpoint in my article “Half Way to Zero” (http://economicedge.blogspot.com/2008/11/half-way-to-zero.html) in which I explain that breaking the 2002 lows means that, from an Elliott Wave perspective, we are going through a Grand Supercycle correction of the last 5 waves that spanned well over a century in time. Wave 5 up ended, or double topped with the peaks in the years 2000 and 2007. This notion is backed up by further observations and comments made this past Monday by the hard working and very conservative Dr. McHugh who gave his permission for such a lengthy quote:

“Wave (B) up will likely be a 3 to 4 month rally, and a last opportunity to raise cash before a cataclysmic decline occurs starting by mid-2009 and lasting into 2010. This is a Grand Supercycle wave {IV} Bear Market occurring, correcting a wave {III} up that started before the United States of America existed. Grand Supercycle degree waves change nations and empires. It is of a higher degree than the Great Depression of the 1930’s, meaning the fallout will be worse. So use this gift, wave (B) up, to prepare. Do not rely upon any lines of credit at any financial institution. They could yank them. Cash is king in a Depression. Look for cash from all sources. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Build up cash. Bank FDIC insured accounts, U.S. Government short-term securities, Gold and Gold coins, these are the primary assets in our conservative investment portfolio model, an investment educational tool – not trading advice – and it has outperformed the stock market, the real estate market, and pretty much all markets by a country mile in 2008. That asset mix still looks good to us as we head into 2009 and especially 2010.”
– with permission, Robert McHugh, Ph.D https://www.technicalindicatorindex.com

The italics and bolding are his. This is a man who usually let’s the charts do the talking for him – unlike me!

And one more true expert who I trust and have followed for years, Jim Shepherd, who can be found here http://jasmts.com/, had this to say in his latest monthly newsletter, “As I predicted some time ago, when a debt bubble the magnitude of the one in question bursts, one of the consequences is the mergence of a slowing, deflationary tilting economy. This is precisely what we are seeing, and the rapidity of the progression leads me to believe the outcome will be one of the worst in history.”

Again, this situation is not something to cheer about. It saddens me greatly and I am bringing it to your attention so that you may protect yourself and, more importantly, so that we see the NEED to work on solutions going forward. Such solutions cannot be developed by the central bankers who created the systems that are now failing. Solutions cannot be brought to you by people who do not understand the situation and did not see it coming.

These experts see wave C coming! ARE YOU READY? Can you see what the future will look like at the bottom of wave C?

We have talked about the past, we know the present situation is bad, but many think it’s almost over. The true experts who I have quoted say that isn’t so. What I see at the bottom of wave C is a group of central bankers having meetings all over the world in “emergency” fashion. They will suddenly announce a plan that will be encapsulated on a 1,200 page paper that suddenly appears one evening! That plan will include “a way out,” and it will include more and bigger interest bearing fractional reserve money by fiat, with mega loans to countries in trouble. Thus they will be “saved.” The reality is that they will not be “saved,” they will become imprisoned and controlled by debt – their people and their resources will thus become controlled by the central bank. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY!

What I also see coming, without PROPER change, are the “events” that tend to follow economic “events.” WE THE PEOPLE don’t want to go there, while others may profit from such upheaval. Are those the same people who bring you the current interest bearing fractional reserve money by fiat system? Are they the same people who own and control the media? THESE ARE SERIOUS QUESTIONS FOR SERIOUS TIMES!

Real, lasting solutions are definitely possible. To see them, you must understand where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re likely headed. Once you do, you will realize that what is being discussed to date is just FLUFF. TREES. The forest is the Math which simply no longer works. The roots can be found in the underlying structure of our political, money, and economic systems.

If you understand this, along with the material in my other CUT THE CRAP articles, then you are ready to hear about real solutions. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW. It is not coming at some point in the future, you are not going to push this math off on your grandchildren, it is here and it is NOW.

Failure to ACT will result in those same people bringing you more America of the CORPORATION FOR THE CORPORATION. That is not acceptable to me! Is it acceptable to you? No, that is NOT our future. Our future is one that is BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE. That includes our money, our economy, and our political structure. THE TIME HAS COME FOR ACTION, you will begin to hear my ideas and views regarding solutions soon. I hope you can keep an open mind and take them in the spirit of which they are intended. I do not pretend to have all the answers. I think I know where the roots lie and know that WE THE PEOPLE can TOGETHER come up with answers that will take us forward UP the evolutionary ladder of our economy and of our nation.

WHISTLEBLOWER! #oops New ETFs Offer a Basket of Precious Metals, Including Gold, Silver, Platinum DailyFinance

@Marc Durant hmmm… me seems to recall you had a case about this? How is Martin Armstrong since you dopped the case. Still in jail on contempt? Did they ever find the missing money. Not the millions frozen by Judge owen in a TRO. Funny how that works. Like you always said, it is not how well you know the law, it is how well you know the judge. WTG, Dad! Send my love to the boys. #CFTC #GATA #whistleblower $950 Million could by a lot of freedom or a lot of silence.

The Daily Dose of TMI: May 13, 2010 : THE COINTELPRO LEGACY

She claims that her accountant did and she knew nothing about it (if
you could only picture my face and feel the sarcasm in voice as I am
forced to repeat this information time and time again to any and all
“agencies” who make inquired) she however does see this as a problem
and refuses to file an amended return (cost $70.00) so once again I am
rendered incapable of establishing independent (in every sense of the
word)

In addition, my father, well… Here we go…

My father as you know agreed to be my representative payee for Social
Security disability. Obviously that was a big mistake on my part and
has yet to be resolved. Congressman Cooper’s office totally dropped
the ball and said there is nothing they can do. I requested that
reopen the investigation, and despite my persistent nice (which is both
annoying and immense) they simply do pretend that I don’t exist.
Governor Bredesen sent an email telling me to call the President.
Seriously, are you kidding me?

So this is where we stand: no Social Security never received the money
that received in IOTOLA account during the months I spent sleeping in
my car or at the lake last summer.

And yes. I did spend a week or so at “The Mission” when I ran out of
gas, energy, and hope last August. My father still was receiving the
money, but did not pay bills, or release to me in time to prevent the
inevitable total disconnection of any and all services (utilities)
making it near impossible to re-establish service. They required
excessive fees for deposits and past due balances.

As per federal law, my father, Marc Durant is responsible for paying
those fees as they were a direct result of his failure to act in my
best interest but also a breach of fiduciary duty.

Now, to make matters worse, every time they seem to locate the
paperwork it gets redirected to the Philadelphia field office. So
The US Dept of Treasury located the funds that were never sent “in
error” some bank account (probably in the Cayman’s or wherever rich
people go to hide there money ~ note both the sarcasm and the simple
fact that this is most likely true. It is sad that even to put in
these little side notes to even use the one things that through this
mess…

Dark sarcasm and a little bit of humor. I’m sick of making
excuses for these people (mother: Karen, and father: Leslie Marc
Durant) so I am laying it down on the table for whomever it cares to
question and blame me for this “unfortunate situation..

These are the facts. And I need to take a break because my fingers are
getting cramps and my back is in spasm.

But I will continue to “the facts” out as long so that I can be free
of the constant struggle to be independent, self-sufficient and
EMPLOYED! This is absurdity and I realize I have people who do see the
obvious truth here. Yet in the real world and the everyday struggle to
be “human” continues.

My mother will always be #batshitcrazy. My father will always be #abovethelaw.
But I will not always have the strength or the ability to communicate
effectively given my financial, physical and emotional reality.

I am aware. I am aware that this is too much for one person to handle
and I don’t blame those walk away in disgust and frustration because
they don’t understand the intricate details of the law or the immense
emotional drama AND trauma that I face each day without resolution.

I understand that people need to believe that these are the ramblings
of a mad woman. If that were true I would say by all means, give me
the strongest does of anti psychotics asap. As I think most people are
starting to realize, unfortunately, these facts check out.

There is no treatment for the habitual and continued ignorance of the
public at large.

It is not my job soothe them or educate them as in law, sociology, and
“the world according to me @ElyssaD”

I do the best I can because I know how serious and pervasive certain
components of my story ring true for a number of people.

I will do the best I can to fight that stigma and the emotional
torture I live with every single say.

Godammit, I hope this thing sends. It is bad enough that I am typing
all this shit on cell phone because AT&T wants a $400 non refundable
fee plus $150 deposit, plus $49 for installation for internet

So in the spirit of which it was intended: Send, send, send!

and don’t bounce back now, ya hear?

Wishing myself luck. I know these words are dangerous to some,
especially in light of the guy who got arrested for sending out a
threatening tweet. Yeah, ~ insert sarcasm about here ~ if you think
my words are “dangerous” than you need you deserve to be scared!
(Laughs to oneself as I know I am not a physical threat to anyone but
let’s face it, if you don’t get it you never will. And if this is a
lesson is Social Darwinism, let the dumb ones live in fear! And to
quote (without permission or proper citation to be added!) But
“If this tweet offends you, probably deserve it!”

@icpchad Yes. I am aware. Now format this bitch and enter it into your contest.
I deserve win something. Maybe an iTHINGY or iNTERNET. Not just iWANT
that is a legitimate iNEED in the world I live in.

Thanks Stacy… I had a hearing at Social Security about two weeks ago.
Very depressing. It cost $44 to or transportation, and they already
reversed the decision now I have to go back again and file the same
paperwork.

I have not received anything from Section 8 which has me concerned,
and my I am a really difficult time with without internet, TV,
transportation…. or even a library w/in walking distance.

Especially with the weather this weekend… I had no idea until I
heard the sirens. and then of everything was closed… and in ‘the
hood” it is cash culture, so of course ppl became very aggressive [aka
mean] fighting over bottle of water and at the gas station when they
reopened.
my mother cancelled changed the password on the “family plan” after we
had “words” regarding well… really nothing… but today has just
been especially difficult since I don’t have reliable phone service…
which of course is both a security and comfort issue for someone who
writes as a form of therapy..

I just this alert on my computer email… I don’t even know where to start…
I received the invitation to the info session on WIPA that you guys
did…unfortunately transportation is problematic.

I have been receiving of lot of support from people online… as silly as it
sounds there are so many ppl isolated and lonely. So I found they have
forums for ppl with PTSD and it has been very helpful to have eed back
that I am not the only one feeling left behind in the disability
movement.

<table style=”width:194px;”><tr><td align=”center” style=”height:194px;background:url(http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left”></td></tr><tr><td style=”text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px”>ERROR</td></tr></table>

Apparently I managed to reach a few ppl locally who call [my number is
public] to ask if I had any success with the housing and re-employment
programs. it makes me feel like I can be of some service to the
community… social services just got hear so I need to sign off but I
have received so many fraud alert that other people e.g., EFF and
other human right agencies have started to ask about my story.

All I can say is that I did write a review online for the Ctr 4 Ind
living at disabilty.gov website when they were looking to for feedback
on reemployment programs… I also had an I usa today and the
hufffington post that made me hopeful and regret at the same time…
this is a recent post ii got tons of feed back on… it is long, but
ppl really seem to relate… Activity on this account
